Adults: Adult Issues Class
The Issues Class is an Adult Sunday School round table discussion of current events and relating them to our faith. The format varies from week to week. On Current Events Sunday we discuss newspaper articles (usually forwarded to the group before class). On Stew Pot Sunday we discuss matters that we have been "stewing" about the previous week. On occasion we have an interesting speaker or watch and discuss a video. This year we will be continuing with one of the "Living the Questions" video series. It is a very informal atmosphere. Come every Sunday or once in a blue moon.
Exploring the Faith class
The Exploring the Faith class gathers to pursue a deeper understanding of Christian faith, seeking to live the faith more fully. The class does so by exploring the Bible and Presbyterian statements of the faith. Each week's discussion offers opportunity for questions to be asked, insights to be shared, growing faith to be affirmed. You are invited to come and explore!
Through book studies and discussion, our newest class for parents of younger children will focus on parenting challenges of the 21st century in the context of our faith.
Each summer, our church participates in Bibletimes Marketplace- our version of Vacation Bible School, alongside our covenant partners Epiphany Catholic Church and St. Luke's Episcopal. Children in Kindergarten through 6th grade learn what it was like in Bibletimes by dwelling in tents with tribe families, participating in craft-making in the marketplace, learning songs and dances, and having the Bible stories come to life through story-telling. (see more pictures from Bibletimes in slideshow above or here).
Bibletimes 2017 will take place July 17 -21, 2017 at Anchorage Presbyterian Church.

We have wonderful educational offerings for both adults and
children during the Sunday School hour on Sundays (9:45AM)
and have Bible Studies throughout the year.
Sunday School Classes Include:
Children: Preschool and Kindergarten (ages 2-5):
The pre-K/Kindergarten curriculum based on the basic belief that
God loves and cares for each of us. Each lesson will actively engage
every child in the Bible story through crafts, story time and songs.
1st through 3rd grade:
This class begins with Creation and we move sequentially through major stories of Hebrew (Old) Scriptures to the Gospel Stories in late winter early spring. The year ends with celebrating the Birthday of the Church, Pentecost. Classes each Sunday involve several hands on activities as well as a prayer and story time. The multi age classroom allows older children to share what they have learned, helping them make the bible stories part of their faith development.
4-6th grade: Our "tween" class focuses on learning experiences that encourage investigation of the many ways Christian faith can shape life choices. Tweens will explore the biblical texts based on the lectionary to explore what the church teaches, wrestle with implications of Jesus' teachings, and give voice to what they believe.
7th- 12th grades:
In our Middle School and High School Class, the students pick topics based on their interests and often hold their class at the Anchorage Cafe over coffee and snacks. Beginning in November, the 7th and 8th graders attend a Confirmaton Class to prepare for their confirmation which usually takes place on Easter Sunday.
