Kentucky Refugee Ministries

Dear KRM Supporters

Although we've only talked about another sponsorship, our opportunity is here, now (sound familiar?).

KRM has just learned that several refugee families/individuals from the "Karen Tribe" of Burma will be arriving in Louisville in two weeks, July 24/25.  Others have already settled here and are doing well.  I was lucky enough to see a small Karen group perform some traditional music at a choral concert put on by KRM just last week (yes, the very one Patricia and Sydney Tague participated in) -- I saw lots of smiles.  I've attached two documents  -- one gives a summary of the struggles of Burma and a description of the Karen Tribe, the other explains what is required of KRM sponsors.

The Outreach Council of APC has designated the necessary funds to support one of these families.  Now we need to assemble a team of folks to coordinate the resettlement activities -- things like:
To respond to this need in the short amount time we have, we will need to get a group together early this week. Please let me know if you have any interest in helping serve in this way. Also, if you know of anyone interested in helping, please forward this request to them.

Thanks,

Kim Phelps
