Children and Youth at APC

Children and youth are at the heart of our church.

We hope they and their families feel welcome in all we do.

Worship

On most Sundays, our members and ministers lead

"Sharing Faith with Our Children" toward the beginning of the

service. Children and children-at-heart are welcome to come

forward at that time.

Worship bags with coloring materials are provided at all services and children are always welcome to stay with their parents in the pews.

During the school year (September-May), school aged children are invited to attend "Agape Kidz" where they leave the sanctuary during the sermon and sing and do crafts with our children's choir director, Darla, before returning to worship during the offertory. An opportunity to sing with Darla also happens during the Faith Formation hour.

On Christmas Eve, the 4 p.m. service is led by our children. If you would like your child to participate, email John!

Education

To see a listing of educational opportunities see our list of classes HERE

Childcare

Under the care of our childcare workers, the nursery is available on Sundays from 9:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. (September - May) and 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 am. (June - August).

Bibletimes Marketplace

Each summer, our church participates in Bibletimes Marketplace- our version of Vacation Bible School, alongside our covenant partners Epiphany Catholic Church and St. Luke's Episcopal. Children who have completed Kindergarten through 6th grade learn what it was like in Bibletimes by dwelling in tents with tribe families, participating in craft-making in the marketplace, learning songs and dances, and having the Bible stories come to life through story-telling.

Parents

Throughout the year, Parents Night Out is held. The church provides free childcare, and the parents can do something fun like bowl, go out to eat, or gather for fellowship at a member's home. Check out the Parents Facebook Group for regular updates or email John.

Youth

Our Youth Group is led by Rev. John Kupar.  They meet after worship on Sunday mornings during the school year, but also have once-a-month events on other days of the week. There is a monthly email that goes out with updates for programming. If you would like to be added to that list, email John.

Every summer, those who have completed 8th grade through graduated seniors attend Montreat Youth Conference.
