Youth who have completed 8th grade by June 2025 are able to attend the Montreat Youth Conference. We partner with Second Presbyterian here in Louisville for registration and travel.
A typical day's schedule includes keynotes with energizers, small group, connecting group, recreation, and back-home group. These are all opportunities to hear God's word and connect it to the lives of high schoolers. At back-home group, we reflect for a final time on a given day's events. This included singing, highs and lows, and even more reflection.
The Montreat Youth Conference is so powerful for many because it is an opportunity to meet young Presbyterians from all over the US. There are usually 800-1000 high schoolers in attendance. Friends are made, lives are changed, and a spark for change is ignited in many. If there is one thing that I (John) get out of these conferences, it is that youth know way more than we give them credit for and that they can have a strong voice that should not be turned left out of the conversation.
2024 Total cost before fundraising: $600
- stay in hotel-style rooms
- food for conference days (not travel lunches)
- conference fees
- outing on afternoon off (TBD but last year we went tubing)

Funds are available to defer cost.
Retreats
These tri-presbytery retreat bring all Kentucky Presbyterian Youth together for one weekend in the fall and spring. They examine the importance of what it means for young people to be relational and connectional in our churches. They are designed to lift up our young people and recognize that they are indeed gifts to the church.
